Welcome to our Online Auction Each year the Powell Museum in Page, AZ conducts an auction to raise funds to continue the museum's mission. Our mission is to provide an organization dedicated to the collection and preservation of the history of the exploration of the Colorado River from John Wesley Powell to modern times, the development of the city of Page, and the interpretation of the Native American cultures of the Colorado Plateau and related areas Local and area businesses and individuals donate items or services on gift certificates for the museum to auction. It is through their generosity that the Powell Museum is able to conduct a single fund raiser each year. This year's event was held on October 16. We raised $14,462 of our $25,000 goal. Fund-raising efforts continue through the sale of items/services left over from the auction. More than 140 donations were contributed to the auction. The items listed on this site are the ones that did not receive minimum bid and were pulled for future sale. If you would like to donate an item for our on-line auction website, please contact the Museum Executive Director at 928-645-9496 or email director@powellmuseum.org As donations become available, they will be added to the Museum's auction site. The Powell Museum is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization governed by a board of directors comprised of local and area. The Museum is run by a paid staff and volunteers. Earlier this year the Museum expanded its mission to include paleontology and exhibit the 95 million year old skeleton of a plesiosaur. In conjunction with the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, the City of Page and Salt River Project, a science lab will be created to house a cleaning and public viewing area for paleontology finds unearthed in the recreation area near Lake Powell and Page. Funding is needed to hire staff to clean the finds and pay additional operational expense for the science lab. |
